Specialist Mental Health Mentors
We are looking for specialist mental health mentors within the West Midlands.
Main role:
Working on a 1:1 basis with University students from around the West Midlands. You will help them with practical strategies to develop resilience and coping mechanisms whilst they are studying.
Mentors need to be:
To be a mentor you need the following:
Vocational qualification: in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Teaching, or Psychiatric Nursing.
Registration to a Professional auditing body : Association of Child Psychotherapists, BABCP accreditation, BACP individual or MBACP, British Psychoanalytic Council – under a member institution, British Psychological Society Chartered Member (CPsychol)/IAPT register/ Graduate Member (MBPsS) AND also PG qualification in Psychology or Mental Health, COSCA accredited member, FDAP (NCAC), General Medical Council (GMC) – Psychiatry, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) (Arts Therapist/ Occupational Therapist/ Practitioner Psychologist/ Social worker in England), IACP accredited member, National Counselling Society (Senior Accredited Member or above), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) – Mental Health Nurse/ community Mental Health nurse / Psychiatric Nurse, Social worker body for Scotland SSSC/ Wales CCWales/ NI (NISCC) or UKCP full clinical individual member.
Or a degree and Comprehensive training in adult autism which must include:All 5 NAS core autism online training modules or NAS tutor-led course OR Holds a PG Certificate in Autism / PG Certificate in Asperger’s.
A full DBS.
Self Employed.
Salary: £25 per hour
